Jewish Life

Oregon Hillel is proud to serve as a pluralistic Jewish home away from home to students from a wide variety of backgrounds. Jewish life on campus is expressed through many venues and students are encouraged to explore and express their Jewish identity in whatever way they are comfortable. Whether you are just beginning your Jewish journey or well on your way, you’ll always feel welcome at Oregon Hillel.  For more specific program information, please visit our program and calendar pages.

Cultural Jewish Life

Jewish life isn’t just about coming to services or celebrating holidays. Oregon Hillel encourages students to think about ways in which they live Jewishly and we are committed to teaching students about the value of tikkun olam (repairing the world).  Our student board is dedicated to creating opportunities that empower students to create programs and initiatives that impact their Jewish community.  Opportunities range from Tzedek (community service) to casual Jewish learning sessions to social events!  Our philosophy is, if you want to see a program that we are not offering, then we are here to help you make that happen!

Religious Jewish Life

Hillel holds FREE Shabbat dinner the once a month at 6 pm.  Stop by to meet new and old friends and enjoy a delicious Shabbat dinner and homemade challah prepared by our students and staff! No reservations or dress code required, it’s a great way to start your weekend!  We also help students connect with our local synagogue, Beit Am, and hold High Holy Day services, Passover seders in Eugene that all students are welcome to attend, and will host 2nd night seder, Purim, and Sukkot parties in Corvallis.
