Alternative Spring Break

Oregon Hillel offers an alternative spring break for those students looking to engage in social justice and Tikkun Olam (repairing the world). This year we will be partnering with Long Way Home to help in the construction of a school in Guatemala out of recycled materials that will one day serve hundreds of students and provide adult education courses. This experience will provide students an opportunity to engage in Tikkun Olam through direct service to a community in need, and we will focus on building an understanding of living Judaism through the practice of Tzedek (righteousness) and developing a commitment to bring those lessons home to impact campus and our the greater community.  This initiative is supported in part by Repair The World, weRepair.org and funds raised through private grants and student fundraising initiatives. If you would like to find out how to support this initiative please contact Andy at Andy@oregonhillel.org.
