  • Erica Kopf

    President

Hi! My name is Erica Kopf and I am a senior double majoring in psychology and sociology here at the UO. In the future I hope to work as a counselor and mental health advocate potentially on a college campus. Some fun facts about me: I am a twin, a Mexican Jew, and my fave foods include noodles of different nationalities. This summer I’m going to Israel and backpacking around Europe (ask me about it)! When I come back I am super excited to be on the Hillel board again but as President with an incredible group of student leaders!

  • Samantha Katzeff

    Public Relations Chair
Hey!  My name is Samantha Katzeff and I am a Junior studying Public Relations and Food Studies here at UO.  I am from San Francisco, California and am a huge fan of the SF Giants.  I went to several Jewish schools from 3rd through 12th grade.  I have gone to Israel 3 times and love ordering schnitzel and mashed potatoes for every meal, with an Aroma coffee in between.  I am a foodie and my passion for food grew after working on the culinary team at Williams-Sonoma.  In my free time I enjoy cooking and finding new recipes on Tasty to try.  Oregon Hillel has become my second home and I’m excited to be on board this year!

I will be spending my 11th summer at camp at the URJ Kutz Camp and cannot wait to come back with lots of ideas of how to make Hillel more sustainable and rad!

I can't wait to see what Oregon Hillel has in store for this upcoming year and I am so excited to be on board.

  • Seth Murawsky

    Religious and Cultural Programming Chair
Hello y'all! My name is Seth Murawsky and I am a sophomore majoring in History and getting a Certificate in Secondary Education. I am originally from the Chicago-land area but for the past few years my family and I have been living in Las Vegas, Nevada. Judaism and Jewish culture have always been something that define who I am, and I love Jewish learning and practice with my whole heart. When I came to Eugene to start school Oregon Hillel became my Jewish home away from home the first Shabbat of fall term. I went to Camp Interlaken JCC for 3 years and now I am a camp counselor at a local secular day camp back in my home in Las Vegas. Fun Fact about me: The Raspberry Truffle ice cream at Prince Pücklers here in Eugene is my all time favorite ice cream and I will love you forever if you get me some.

A huge reason I chose Oregon was becuase of the Jewish community here on campus. In my free time you can find me either hanging out with friends or watching a Disney original film (probably Camp Rock 2). I’m so excited to get more involved with Hillel this upcoming year!

  • Maddie Newman

    Social Justice Chair
Hey world! I’m Maddie Newman and I am so grateful to serve Hillel as co-Tzedek Social Justice Chair! I’m from Southlake, Texas so I’ve been enjoying seeing so much grass and so many huge trees! When I’m not at Hillel, I am studying Planning, Public Policy and Management with a minor in Non-Profit Administration, drinking dutch bros coffee, working as a FIG assistant or hanging out at the Kappa Alpha Theta house. My Jewish experiences have had an instrumental part in making me who I am whether it be at URJ Greene Family Camp over 11 summer, numerous NFTY-TOR kallot or volunteering at my Synagogue. Fun fact: I toured UO Hillel during my first time visiting UO and it sealed the deal that this is where I wanted to be for the next 4 years. Although I love my Jewish communities back home, I am ecstatic to play part in making Hillel a home for everyone this year!
  • Sarah Birch

    Social Justice Chair
Hi Hillel! My name is Sarah Birch and I’m super excited to be co-chairing the Tzedek Social Justice Chair. I’m a sophomore in the Clark Honors College here at UO majoring in Sociology. I’m from Folsom, California (near Sacramento) but I’m loving the rainy northwest. Being Jewish is one of the most important parts of my life. I was super involved in NFTY’s Central West Region during high school and I love the Jewish community with all my heart. I also love: musicals, music, singing, ice skating, traveling, all things England, tea, mugs, and mac n cheese. You can find me at Hillel being Jewish, the Duck Nest (where I will be volunteering as a Peer Wellness Advocate for the 2018-2019 school year), or the Craft Center crafting. I’m so excited to be apart of making Hillel the Jewish home that it is for us Ducks!
