  • Lev Silberstein

Class of 2016 - Ashland, OR

My name is Lev Silberstein and I am a Senior at the University of Oregon with a Major in Political Science and a Minor in Business. I also intend on attending grad school after my Bachelors to get my Masters in accounting. I'm from Ashland, Oregon and am a brother of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity. I love to travel wherever and whenever I can. In March 2015, I went with Oregon Hillel to Guatemala to help build a school. It was an amazing experience.

I served as Oregon Hillel’s 2014-2015 VP of Communications and I ran for Hillel board again so that I could continue to give back to the Jewish Community on campus and am looking forward to my time here along with the programs that my fellow board members and I are working hard to put together. We would like to see more student involvement this year and can’t wait to work with you over the next year.

  • Gabriel Ovetz

Vice President of Religious & Cultural Programming
Class of 2018 - Sammamish, WA

Oh hello! I didn’t see you there! My name is Gabriel Ovetz and I am a Sophomore studying Advertising and Music. I’m from Seattle, Washington and my passions consist of Judaism, music, sports and art. In high school, I was fortunate enough to serve as both the Religious and Cultural Vice President and President of my NFTY-NW region. On top of that, I would frequently lead services at my temple and work on Sundays for religion school. When I’m not involving myself with Judaism, I am writing and producing music. Music is a huge part of my life and I aspire to work within the music industry as a professional. While I do love the Seahawks, Mariners and Sounders, I love making Hillel as great as it can be even more. I am very open to new and innovative ideas that push the boundaries of what we consider services and programs. If you have any ideas or comments, please feel free to contact me!

Hey, my name is Jake Monasch and I am a Sophomore here at the University of Oregon. I grew up in the amazing San Francisco Bay Area. Judaism has always been a huge part of my life and in high school I was very involved with BBYO. Through BBYO I went to Israel after my Sophomore year. I love Oregon Hillel and I plan on doing whatever I can to make sure others feel a part of the Jewish community on campus.

  • Ben Stolberg

    Vice President of Fundraising
Class of 2016 - Las Vegas, NV

Hello friend, my name is Ben Stolberg and I am here to make fundraising a blast! I am a senior studying psychology, but really I just daydream about ways to help make all of the great student led programs and services that Hillel provides possible.  In my spare time I enjoy sitting in sunlight, creating and consuming inappropriate amounts food, and calling Lev to see how he’s doing. I was born in raised in Las Vegas, NV, but didn’t step foot inside a casino until I came to Seven Feathers here in Oregon. Ultimate Frisbee is pretty cool and I also love McDonalds. Feel free to contact me anytime and we can meet to discuss ideas or call Lev to see how he’s doing!

  • Alex Ruby

    Vice President of Communications
Class of 2018 - San Jose, CA

Hi! My name is Alex Ruby and I am a rising sophomore double-majoring in Journalism and Business. I'm from San Jose, California so I probably know someone in the tech industry. In high school I was involved in BBYO and in the Jewish Student Union on my campus. I love everything involving movies, TV, games, music, books, and comics. If you need any music recommendations I can make you a playlist!  I want to make everyone feel at home at Hillel & in the community just as I did when I first came to the University of Oregon. I want to promote Hillel as place of community and engage students in exciting programs.

If you want to help out with Hillel's communications (including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc) just email me! You can also follow Hillel on Twitter at @OregonHillel and me at @arubyrubrub!
