Andy began his career in building Jewish community serving as the Baltimore Council BBYO Director and eventually found his way back to his native Hoosier state where he served as the Assistant Director at the Helene G. Andy then joined the development team at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, where he served as a Major Gifts Officer. Originally from Indianapolis, Andy holds a B.S. from Ball State University in Natural Resources Environmental Management and Interpretation, and is committed to building relationships with Jewish students to help them continue (or embark) on their own personal Jewish journey.
  • Amanda K. Weiss

Director of Jewish Leadership & Learning
    (541) 343-8920 ext. 106
Amanda Weiss hails from a small village in Rockland County NY, aptly named Piermont for its pier and mountains. Having lived up and down the east coast for much of her life, she is very excited to now call Oregon home! A graduate of George Washington University, Amanda majored in Judaic Studies and Psychology, holds a Graduate Certificate in Jewish Non-Profit Management from Gratz College, a Masters in Business Administration from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, and is finishing her certificate in Jewish Education through Hebrew Union College. Along with her formal education, she has also spent time studying in New York’s Drisha Institute, wrestling with figures from textbooks and Torah simultaneously. A student at the core, Amanda couldn’t be more thrilled to join Hillel at the University of Oregon and explore the college town of Eugene, OR. In her free time (what free time?), Amanda enjoys playing with her lab-boxer Ellie, seeing musicals, finding great bargains, and experimenting with different art forms from piano to micrography to baking. She also has a penchant for purple elephants and a love of alliteration. Bribery attempts may be made in the forms of Double Chocolaty Chip Frappachinos (no whip!) or mint chocolate chip ice cream.
  • Becca Marx

    Director of Student Engagement
    (541) 343-8920 x102

Becca is a Portland native and has her roots firmly planted in the Jewish community of Oregon. As a child, adolescent, and teen she spent 13 summers at B'nai Brith Camp as camper and lifeguard. As a teen she was involved in BBYO as a member of BBG Portland chapter 313 and served on the Evergreen Regional Board as head of Jewish Education. She continued her Jewish journey when she went off to attend University of Oregon, where she discovered her passion for Biblical Hebrew, theology, and teaching Sunday school at Temple Beth Israel. Becca graduated with a B.A. in Religious Studies and headed down south to San Diego spending two years serving as the Director of Student Engagement with Hillel of San Diego at San Diego State University. Becca is ecstatic to return to Eugene and continue her work building Jewish community. She is a Duck Football enthusiast (and season ticket holder!) and an avid Mahjong player (she'd love to teach you). When not at Hillel you might catch Becca riding her bike around town or running on Pre's trail.
