    (541) 343-8920 ext. 106

Brittany Lenhart was born a Buckeye in Cincinnati, Ohio, and grew up a Hoosier in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She grew up in the Reform movement and attended the Union for Reform Judaism’s Goldman Union Camp Institute (GUCI) for fifteen years as a camper, counselor, and unit head. This is where her passion for programming and working with Jewish youth began.

Brittany studied human rights and social movements at Indiana University, then began her career working for educational nonprofits in Chicago, Illinois, and Asheville, North Carolina. Brittany became a Taglit Fellow in 2014 and has lead five Birthright trips through Israel Free Spirit and Israel Outdoors. Most recently, as of July 2016, she completed her Masters in International Education at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Brittany is excited to call Oregon home and join the Hillel team. In her free time she enjoys hiking and reading, and taking her dog, Ava, to the dog park. Stop by the Hillel house and meet Brittany anytime you're nearby! She is looking forward to meeting you.

  • Rachel Chodorow-Reich

Director of Jewish Student Life - Oregon State University
    rachel@oregonhillel.org

Rachel brings a diverse background of Jewish, spiritual, and ritual experience, as well as decades of group building, leadership development, and coaching. She is thrilled to support Oregon State Jews in drawing on our huge gift of connection to thousands of years of tradition, family lineage, spiritual and life guidance, and a global tribe of diverse people with diverse connections to our heritage. She is here to encourage all strands of Jewish Beavers to find and build their Jewish home at OSU. It is also her priority to build relationships and allyships with other ethnic/racial/religious/cultural groups on campus and in the community.

Rachel has led Jewish rituals and discussions with Jews and non-Jews age five to eighty-five in synagogues, at summer camps, in homes, at Google, and in the ocean and wilderness. She loves Jewish/camp singing around a campfire, and celebrating the ancient practices of Jews in connection with nature through Wilderness Torah and the larger Jewish Outdoor Food, Farming, and Environmental Education and justice movements. She enjoys supporting people in researching and sharing their lineage, doing historical/ancestral grief work, and creating rituals that feel meaningful for many occasions and rites of passage.

Originally from Berkeley, CA, Rachel studied Education and Africana Studies at Brown University and loves living in beautiful Corvallis with her partner.
